Some people have wrong perception about the Symbian certificate file, namely:

    • Symbian certificate file can be used on trial application so that the application is fully functional (like crack or the like) –> it’s not true. Certificate file is useful for updating certificate files which has been expired on the application. So you can install the aplications.
    • All applications always will can be installed if already through the signing process  –> not entirely true or false. Signing software such as X-Sign, OPDA SignSis, GenialSis, iMobile Sign Tool, FreeSigner, BiNPDA RootSiGN, need Symbian certificate file to work but not always successful signing Symbian applications. Hack your Symbian phones usually work better so that applications can be installed without a hitch. But hack the phone has negative effect when there is a failure. Your cell phone could be damaged. So consider before making hack to yours.
  • I have certificate files for my mobile phone, but why it can not be used after updating the firmware? –> It could happen. Latest Symbian operating system requires a certificate file with the authorization of mobile phone IMEI number. Authorize the IMEI number is not located in the oldcertificate files, so it can not be used. And one more thing, certificate files with  IMEI number authorization can not be used on other phones because the IMEI number is different.
