Custom themes for windows 7 - gpedit.msc

Custom themes for windows 7 will make the desktop look more attractive. Here I’m talking about using custom themes for Windows 7 with ease.

When using custom themes for windows 7, I often get interesting user interface from the creators who share them with free on the internet. For example Windows 7 Skull – Visual Style by TheDarkenedPoet. In the downloaded file package….. that contained the file explorer.exe which carries a wide customations in terms of interfaces so that are not original, like start menu orb that shown on the picture beside.

To use the file (explorer.exe), go to Run (press Windows key + R, or find on Start Menu). Afterthat type gpedit.msc then press enter (or click OK). Will open Group Policy Editor Window.

Custom themes for windows 7

Find menus User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Custom User Interface, as illustrated in the picture above that be clarified with green highlight.

Custom themes for windows 7 - apply setting

Double click to open the menu and choose Enabled. At the bottom….. input the location of the file explorer.exe that obtained earlier. Then confirm with OK.

The next step is to restart your computer and see the results.

You get a nice user interface….. but in my experience, I get a negative effect too if compared with the “take ownership” method.

Note: If this doesn’t work, try to install Uxtheme Multi-patcher first.
